Colt and Harley. Miniature Dachshund brothers, born Sept 12 2019. Now in their forever home…
In response to the wave of proposed anti-gun legislation in Virginia, many of its cities and counties have declared themselves Second Amendment Sanctuaries. One county, in particular, took it a step further at their December 3rd County Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting.
Heading back once again with WZ4C and KC4ANQ in May 2020.
Will be my first trip back since the event was relocated to Xenia, Ohio.
2003-2019. The original Ham Dog, Mudbone….
Special thanks to WZ4C Bradley (without him, none of this is possible), for the help of raising the sections via the gin pole.
50ft of Rohn 25G. Diamond X300A at 55ft. 1/2 inch CommScope 50 ohm hardline. Also have a pulley fastened at the 50ft level for dipole end support.
I’m definitely NOT a repeater operator, however I want the means to access multiple machines if the need ever arises, and to work of C4FM direct on VHF/UHF.
The tower in the background is not leaning as it appears in the photo! Just the angle of the shot. That is my main tower. 120ft Rohn 25G.
Installation of my second tower is making good progress. All sections have been wire brushed, inspected, and painted. All new grade 5 bolts, washers, and locking nuts on hand. The antenna I chose to go with is the proven Diamond X300 vhf/uhf vertical. Feedline is 1/2 inch CommScope 50 ohm hardline, with a short section of LMR400. Base of the antenna will be at 55ft, and should provide access to many repeaters throughout this area.
